Claire Rhiannon Holt is an Australian actress.

She is known for her roles as Emma Gilbert in H2O: Just Add Water, Samara Cook in Pretty Little Liars, Chastity Meyer in Mean Girls 2, Rebekah Mikaelson in The Vampire Diaries, and its spinoff series The Originals and Legacies and Kate in the 2017 survival horror film, 47 Meters Down.

Why did Claire Holt leave h2o?

The Australian voice actress left the program for no dramatic reason other than schedule issues. Holt had already committed to shooting a picture while the show was renewed for a third season. The actor spent a significant portion of 2008 filming Messengers 2: The Scarecrow in Bulgaria. Unfortunately for H2O: Just Add Water fans, this meant that she would not be able to resume her role as Emma.

Holt may not have returned for Season 3 of H2O: Just Add Water, but she has pleasant memories of the show. Emma was the actor’s first big break in the film and television worlds, and she cherishes her time on the show.

Also, she remains close to one of her co-stars. She and Tonkin co-starred in The Originals and remain close friends to this day. Though supporters were disappointed to see Emma leave, Holt clearly did what she thought was best for herself and her profession.
