U.S. Solheim Cup captain Stacy Lewis named Morgan Pressel, Angela Stanford, Paula Creamer and Brittany Lincicome as her assistants for the match-play event against Europe in September at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va.
Creamer and Lincicome will serve as assistants for the first time, joining 2023 assistants Pressel and Stanford to work alongside Lewis in leading a team of 12 American female golfers.
The United States is seeking to claim the Solheim Cup for the first time since 2017. Europe, which won in 2019 and 2021, retained the cup after the sides played to a 14-14 tie last year in Spain.
“I’m so excited to have Morgan and Angela back for this year,” Lewis said. “... Then thinking about what I learned last year in Spain and from previous captains, I asked Paula and Brittany to join the team as well. These four have so much experience and love for the Solheim Cup, plus they’re my friends and all major champions, too.”
Creamer is a 10-time LPGA Tour winner, becoming a major champion at the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open. She played on her first U.S. Solheim Cup team as a tour rookie in 2005 at 19, then the youngest player in U.S. Solheim Cup history.

Lincicome has top-10 finishes in all five LPGA Tour major championships, including titles at the 2009 and 2015 Chevron Championships. In 2018, she became the sixth woman to compete in a PGA Tour event. Lincicome has competed in six Solheim Cups.
“Serving as an assistant captain to the U.S. Solheim Cup team will be one of the greatest honors of my career,” Lincicome said. “It is such a privilege to represent our country, and I couldn’t be more excited to take on this new role.”
Pressel won what was then called the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2007 at 18, then the youngest major winner in LPGA Tour history. She was a member of Team USA at the Solheim Cup in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2019, going undefeated in 2011 with a 4-0-0 record and securing the winning point in 2009 with a 3-and-2 win over Anna Nordqvist.

Stanford has seven LPGA Tour victories, earning her first major title at the 2018 Evian Championship in her 18th season on tour. She has competed in six Solheim Cups; she secured the winning point for the Americans in 2015 with a 2-and-1 victory over Suzann Pettersen.
This year’s Solheim Cup will take place Sept. 13-15 and will be held in the D.C. area for the first time. It’s also back on an even-year schedule for the first time since 2002 so as not to conflict with the Ryder Cup, which went to odd years following the coronavirus pandemic.
