Who was the last team on “Hard Knocks”?

The Detroit Lions were featured on the 2022 season of “Hard Knocks” and strung together their first winning record since 2017 after the show debuted.

The Lions were one of the most improved squads in the NFL last year, starting the season with a 1-6 record before they won eight of their last ten games for a final 9-8 record.

While it just missed the playoff mark, Detroit is considered a contender heading into the 2023 campaign.

Have the Jets ever been on “Hard Knocks”?

The Jets last appeared on “Hard Knocks” in 2010 –– which was part of the reason why the team was able to be selected this year.

The Jets, along with the Bears, Commanders and Saints, were eligible for “Hard Knocks” because they don’t have a first-year head coach, haven’t made the playoffs in the past two seasons, and haven’t been featured on the show in the past 10 seasons.

Gang Green’s 2010 feature on “Hard Knocks” proved to be productive as they posted an 11-5 record and advanced to the AFC Championship Game while playing under then-head coach Rex Ryan, who had Mark Sanchez at quarterback.

The Steelers ultimately ousted the Jets 24-19 in the AFC title game, marking the last time the Jets smelled the postseason.

Seven of the 18 teams that have been featured on “Hard Knocks” went on to qualify for the playoffs that season.

The Jets, who have the longest postseason drought in the NFL, open the 2023 campaign on Sept. 11 when they host the Bills at MetLife Stadium for “Monday Night Football.”
